For highlighting the importance of educating all children – Samuel Isaiah

After a decade of teaching in rural Malaysia, Samuel Isaiah came to realise there was a serious lack of help given to children from the indigenous Orang Asli community. Determined to provide equal educational opportunities to this group of children, he developed programmes to teach them English as well as to train teachers. He has worked with 60 schools across four Malaysian states so far. Samuel also co-founded Edufication, a platform for teachers by teachers that aims to encourage critical educational discourse. He now acts as the programme director at Pemimpin GSL and aims to improve school leadership in Malaysia.
