EXCELLENT SCHOOLS BEGIN WITH EXCELLENT LEADERS

Who Are We?

PEMIMPIN GSL (Global Education Leaders Malaysia Berhad 201901002310/1311636X) is a not-for-profit organisation that focuses on strengthening leadership in schools across Malaysia. Our vision is that every school in Malaysia will be led by an effective school leader.

What We Know:

We know that there are low levels of achievement in public schools in Malaysia, especially those with high enrolment of students from urban poor communities or rural schools.

What We Are Doing:

We are focused on providing training and support to school leaders to improve their knowledge, motivation and skills in hopes of increasing levels of achievement amongst students.

What We Believe:

School leaders are the key drivers that will lead to school transformation and without great principals, there will be no great schools.

VISION :

To ensure every school in Malaysia is led by effective, high quality leaders who will drive school transformation.

MISSION :

  • To train school leaders with the needed motivation, skills and knowledge in improving student outcomes and achievement.
  • To drive systemic impact, influence policy making and training.

Our Approach

On-going Workshops
School leaders meet once every two months for a day-long workshop which focuses on building the knowledge and skills they need to drive change in their schools.
School Support Visits / Coaching Sessions
Following each workshop, PEMIMPIN GSL's coaches will visit their respective schools. The visits include school walkthroughs with the school leader as well as co-observations of lessons, interactions with teachers/students if required, as well as a review of action steps decided in the previous visit.
School Self Evaluation
School Self Evaluation is about schools taking ownership of their development and improvement. It is a powerful tool for change, as a school that knows and understands itself is likely to improve more rapidly and sustainably. In year 1, school leaders identify the strength of their school and areas of improvement using the Continuous Improvement Framework to create a School Improvement Development Plan after.
School Improvement Development Plan
The School Improvement Development Plan is a structure to enable school leaders to have a focused plan about teaching and learning as well as school improvement.
Network of School Leaders
PEMIMPIN GSL aims to build professional learning communities amongst our school leaders. Workshops are designed to maximize peer interactions and cross-learning. School leaders are also highly encouraged to establish support for each other outside of PEMIMPIN GSL sessions.
